Focus was chosen as a brandname, because it’s so essential and yet, it is easily forgotten. And because this is so, we wish to remember ourselves and each other to focus. To remember why we do what we do. To remember to pay attention to whatever you are doing in the moment. Focus, give it to who you love (not too much to our phones ;), to the mountains, remember you are alive as often as you can! That’s what Focus stands for and wishes to bring to memory through it’s creations. 

The Company was born in 2018 a small Dutch business named ‘De Verbetering’, which is translated in English as ‘The Improvement’ or ‘The Betterment’. By improving things, finding solutions to pratical problems, less time (attention) needs to be spent on the practical aspects of life. In this way slowly, bit by bit, Focus is being set free. Dancing, playing wide awake, enjoying Life.

The Folver is just a humble beginning, a product for rock climbers, arborists and people enjoying and/or working at heights. Not made in any ‘sweatshop’ but in a small workshop. Hopefully future endeavours of Focus will end not with world peace, but with Earth Festival, the First Edition, everyone invited. Or better how the French say ‘everyone’: ‘Toute le monde’ is invited. When whole of humanity is in this huge group picture at the festival, who will be asked to take the picture? Selfie-stick will be way too short! Would be great if we’re not the only ones in this vast universe. We hope you will be there too. But before we will be there, it will start right here, right now, like anything of value, it starts with returning to yourself and focusing in the present moment. Thats why the name Folver was chosen for our first creations: Volver is Spanish for ‘to return’. Return to where? To ourselves. There we start and Focus.
