Focus Folver instructions Manual
In order to gain maximum benefits of it’s use, prolong it’s lifespan and avoid damage to the product or injuries to it’s users, read this manual fully and carefully, ensure you understand it’s content and follow these instructions when using this product.
Intended Use
The Focus Folver is exclusively designed to store climbing gear and to keep it organized to your personal preference. Do NOT use the Folver as Personal Protective Equipment, nor as safety anchor. It is neither designed, nor tested, nor certified as such.
Instructions of Use
Attaching gear
1.
Unfold the Folver completely, making the loops and rings visible.
2.
Attach and organize climbing gear to your preference by clipping it to these eyes and rings. The picture below is shown as example.
Some Recommendations
- The 5 black D-rings are intended for clipping a single carabiner. We recommend
using these for sets of nuts, hexes or slings. The D-rings are big enough for a screw or twistlock carabiners to pass through. - The Eight coloured gear loops are designed to hold a maximum of 6 carabiners. These can be used for clipping quickdraws or cams.
- Clip carabiners to the Folver with the gate facing the underlying fabric. This way, the next time you want to use them, they’re easiest to unclip.
- To prevent gear puffing out of the folded Folver, clip less gear to the two loops and rings closest to the handle. We recommend clipping only a few carabiners and a bunch of slings here. In case you own a big climbing rack gear, consider using two Folvers. For example, one Folver for Quickdraws, slings and belay devices (sportclimbing rack), and another Folver for nuts, cams and hexes (traditional climbing rack).
Instructions of Use
Storing climbing gear
1.
Fold the upper part of the fabric over the gear towards you, as shown in the picture below.
2.
Fold the lower part of the fabric away from you until it’s parallel to the upper folding.
3.
Roll the fabric, with the gear in between, towards the handle. The fabric might have a tendency to open up a little when rolling, so some flattening of the fabric by hand might be useful.
4.
Take the straps and clip the two hooks to the eyelets. Tighten by pulling the loose end of the strap.
Preparing for the Climb
One of the purposes of the Folver is to reduce the amount of time spend on organizing gear. Time saved can be spent more to Focus on what you like, climbing.
- Unhook the two aluminium hooks from the straps and unfold the Folver completely, making the climbing gear visible.
- Unclip the gear needed for the climb from the Folver and clip them to your climbing harness.
- Gear not used for the climb can stay attached to the Folver. Follow the 3 steps described above under Storing Gear, to fold everything into a neat package.
Additional Instructions
- Keep away from heat sources (no higher than 40 degrees Celsius) and fire.
- Do not drag the Folver on the ground. This may cause sharp rocks, tree roots, thorns etc to damage the fabric.
- Always remember to Focus.
General Recommendations of use
Maintenance and storing
- Store the Folver in a dry, dark (away from direct sunlight) and cool place. Take into account your climbing gear manufacturer’s recommendations for storing.
- Take a damp cloth to wipe off stains or mud. When necessary, machine wash is possible, but not recommended too often. Follow the Laundry guide instructions on the label attached to the Folver. Dry thoroughly before using again.
- Make sure your gear is clean and dry before clipping to and storing into the Folver. To prevent the inside of your backpack and it’s contents from becoming wet in case you came down the rock face in a rain shower, you can store wet gear temporarily in the Folver. If you do so, make sure to roll out the Folver, preferably as soon possible, but maximum within 24 hours, to allow it and your gear
to dry naturally and completely before storing for longer periods.
